Haven’t had time to do more than skim either the Science paper or Pat Shipman’s read on it; however, a lot of things in the Atlantic article raise red flags: “Ritual burial” is often claimed without slam dunk evidence, and “worship” is ridiculously hard to establish a case for. However, I’ve noted before that Shipman is generally not one to speak before she’s certain of her evidence. And obviously dogs are the greatest thing ever.
